Thinking: Start with Why

Good planning starts with thinking clearly and strategically about where you are now, and where you want to go. It can extend as far as thinking widely about your life, and what you want it to be about.

In Simon Sinek’s bestseller, “Start with Why”, he outlines how some people, leaders, and organisations are more successful and more able to repeat their successes, than others. The key, Sinek argues, is to identify not what you do, but why you do it.

A major reason for the effectiveness of this is because when a person, a leader, or an organisation’s motives are well understood, it is easier to collaborate with and trust them.

And with that trust comes deeper willingness to explore the real issues being faced, the proverbial elephants in the room that, left unchecked, can undermine not only trust, but the ability to make changes and stick to the sometimes rocky road of seeing those changes through to fruition.

Our “Why” at Hoe Bridge Wealth lies in enjoyment of the combination of personal caring, financial and technical problem-solving, and delivering real value to humans we work with. Because we have complete alignment between our firm, the work it does, and our strategic leadership and execution, there is a congruence of purpose and standards to which we hold ourselves.

If we recommend something to you, it’s because we really believe in it, and we really believe in helping you aim for more, and achieve more with your personal finances and ultimately, with your life and legacy.

What’s your why?

What overarching purposes are you pursuing in your work, family, community, and leisure?
